Being something of an amateur theatrical, I have known Jean and Martin for many years. I have appeared on stage many times, usually in light comedies, musicals and panto but it was Jean who set me my greatest challenge when, in 2004 she cast me in ‘Bouncers’ by John Godber that she was directing for Bocking Theatre Club. With a cast of only four men playing several roles without ever leaving the stage, it took me way out of my comfort zone. Jean had more faith in me than i had myself and she gave me all the support and encouragement I needed to succeed in playing, what remains my most challenging role, but the one i sm most proud of.
